Evaluation for the Life FertilityCare Programme
The couple will be taught to chart the menstrual cycle using the
Creighton Model system. The information thus gained may itself
enable the couple to achieve pregnancy.
Charting is a helpful diagnostic tool and is vital in identifying
problems, timing investigations and monitoring response to treatment.
The Life FertilityCare Physician will explain to the couple during
medical consultations, the appropriate treatment and/or the need
for further investigation.
Fertility/Infertility Treatment
When adequate information about the hormonal and/or organic
problems that underlie the fertility disturbance has been obtained
- then a comprehensive plan of treatment can be drawn up.
The key to successful treatment for fertility and infertility
is in the detailed analysis of the specific problems and the ability
to plan a comprehensive course of treatment.
Success
The likelihood of success varies according to a couple's
profile. The overall average for infertility is 25% for a woman
aged 35 years with a history of 5 years trying to conceive.
Success rates are less for older women, in cases where pelvic
adhesions or endometriosis are severe and for men with very low
sperm counts.
In cases of recurrent miscarriage
up to 80% of couples can hope for a successful outcome with treatment.
