"We had been trying for a baby for 2 years and were
on the waiting list for IVF when we read about the Life
FertilityCare programme in a newspaper article. We contacted
the Centre and started the programme.
We did get to the top of the IVF waiting list but decided
to stay with the Life FertilityCare programme for a number
of reasons:
Most importantly, the Life FertilityCare programme
fitted our ethical views, as committed Christians we were
very unhappy with the idea of excess embryos being either
stored or destroyed. In the Life FertilityCare programme
eggs are fertilised naturally so there is no excess.
Also in Life FertilityCare programme you are treated
as individuals rather than as a set of symptoms. The team
are available to discuss options with you and listen to
your views. At the IVF clinic, the nurse was very surprised
when we asked about alternatives!
The Life FertilityCare programme also considers
all aspects of lifestyle that may affect your fertility,
rather than concentrating on 'curing' the symptoms. We also
had counselling to discuss how we would cope if the programme
was unsuccessful.
Finally, in Life FertilityCare programme you have a team
of people who know you as a person and are willing to talk
through any problems at any time. This support helps reduce
the stress involved with infertility.
In our case Life FertilityCare programme was successful
and we now have a beautiful little girl. We are now back
on the programme to try for another child and having gone
through the programme and knowing what was wrong in the
first place we are hopeful that we can be successful again."
